J's New School

J started a new school today. He's in a Montessori program which we're hoping will be a great learning style for him. He was really sad to leave his old school and friends behind but we're sure his charming personality will make him new friends very soon. We wanted to send him here for Kindergarten but with Montessori it is best to start them young so we pulled him out early to get acclimated.

We were anxious today because at this school you just drop off and pick up in a car line outside, whereas his old school you actually walked them into their classrooms. So thankfully the teacher sent a note home to tell us how the day went.

J had a fun 1st day at RMS! He worked with lots of the practical life activities. He poured, polished and did some spooning, opened the lock box and a waited a long time to try the screwdriver work. He fed the water frogs and went to Spanish class and played the bells. Looking forward to a good year!

Yahoo, J. I had to question the spooning...apparently it involves carrying balls in spoons. In the class they have rotating chores. His current chore is caring for the water frogs which I'm sure he will not give up easily as it is hands down the best chore someone could give him. I have a feeling that frogs might be in our near future here at home too. And as soon as he got into the car his first words were "Hola!" so the Spanish must be fun too.

We will miss J at MDO, but are happy that he likes his new school!
