Another reason to love our new house:
The plate railing in our dining room also effectively acts as a toy "time out" holding facility. Perfect for punishing the offender with a perfect visual of the said toy while making it impossible to reach. I'm sure the builder had that in mind in 1915 when he was designing the house.

I absolutely love this observation. Again, part of the "historic home" charm that people who buy newish homes - hmm, the Schulzes perhaps? - will not be able to enjoy!!!
Just wait for the day he pulls the chair from one side of the house to the other just to get it down....or has he tried that one already?
Hasn't tried it yet - which surprises me!
