The Plague (Or Why We Haven't Posted)

Well, I can kind of, sort of blame it on the plague that has hit our house. Not entirely though - before that happened, we were just crazy busy with my volunteering with an event, the kids schedules, preparing for the imminent arrival of the North Carolina/Philly family for the Thanksgiving holiday and all sorts of other things that decided to land within the same time period; book club, baby shower, birthday party, etc.

But none of that matters right now as we battle The Plague - or what our insurance is being billed for under "pink eye and strep throat". Usually we space out our illnesses pretty well but this time we all got sick, really sick, at the same exact time. Which sucks because there is no one there to take pity on you when your throat feels like a set of steak knives and your eye is oozing and puffy. And the kids aren't the good kind of sick - lethargic and sleepy - they have been just cranky and snotty (literally) and bored out of their little minds. Everyone is on antibiotics but no one is feeling any better yet - except maybe L whose eyes no longer look like someone has been punching her.

So please excuse the lack of blogs lately. I even gave up reading my nightly newspaper and just threw a pile in the recycling bin.

It's all about survival right now, baby.
