Good game, good game, good game

click on image to play - J scores a goal The Spidermen Didn't Win But It Was A Good GameJ's first game was fun. Despite the fall wind blowing across the prairie, it was a great day for soccer. They had a couple of ringers on the other team, the Dr. Octopuses, that were pretty darn good, weren't interested in running AWAY from the ball, seemed to know what goal was the right one and generally could kick it into the net instead of beside the net. But that is okay - it was fun and J had a great time. He scored six goals for the team - only problem was that he tried to keep the ball away from everyone, including his own teammates. Note to work on team cooperation for next game. In order to try to get the kids to understand not touching the ball, the coach came up with the idea that the ball was really, really hot and the only thing that could touch the ball were their special heat-resistant soccer shoes. That worked until about halfway through the game when J developed specialized gloves that were also heat-resistant and aided him in picking up the ball anyway. So much for that theory!
