You'd Think There Would Be More "Incidents"

There are lots of alligators on the banks of South Carolina and on down. You just don't really hear much about them. But there were signs and warnings all over Kiawah Island, where we stayed. And sure enough - we saw plenty. This "little" guy spooked some kid playing basketball and took the ball away in front of everyone, not very nice but at least the kid didn't get in the way. My dad actually took this picture and L and J got to watch the whole thing go down.

A few days later Keith witnessed a black lab getting way too close to the water and subsequently attacked as well. His fur was a bit patchy and it looked like he might have made a quick trip to the vet for stitches.

We hear they like to lie on the pavement of the bike paths too. I preferred to watch them in the water.
